RCI
Overview
Launched in July of 2008, SARCI is an initiative of the Saudi General Investment Authority (SAGIA) - under the Responsible Competitive initiative (RCI) - to encourage and reward responsible leadership in companies working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The responsible competitiveness initiative includes two major components:
Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index (SARCI)
The Leadership Dialogue

SARCI
Tamkeen Sustainability Advisors was chosen to be the local partner for SARCI, which is a yearly assessment of leading businesses' performance conducted based on international benchmarks and local development needs. The assessment looks into the strength of a company's strategy, management, engagement processes and performance systems. The partnership entitles Tamkeen to localize the international standards and benchmarks based on the local market's needs. Tamkeen is also responsible for conducting the interviews with companies, develop the business analysis and work with AccountAbility (the International partner) on developing the case studies for the index findings launch.

The Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index (SARCI)
The core of the Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index (SARCI) is an annual confidential assessment of leading businesses in Saudi Arabia. Eligible businesses can be large or small, public or private, Saudi or foreign, from any sector. Businesses that choose to participate will have an in-depth discussion of their performance with trained analysts, based on Accountability’s global RC Index framework.
The Index is a detailed process to assess the strength of a company's strategy, management, engagement processes and performance systems. The process offers learning opportunities for senior managers.
The framework has been developed to take account of competitive pressures and opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The SARCI report presents cases from innovative boosters, small clean-tech firms and international banks to demonstrate how companies are driving productivity through responsible business practices.
The report concludes that the Kingdom is becoming a diverse, vibrant and responsible economy.
